Good Afternoon Chapter Leaders! I am celebrating today.
I seem to be finally on the upswing after a long week of summer crud.
(Keep your fingers crossed for me please.)
It's just in time too - Friday I fly to LA for a week.
I'll be staying near LA Live.
Anyone have any must-sees for the area?
Shifting gears, thanks to those of you who are spreading the word about the Playground.
We are growing steadily and able to help more and more chapters create outrageous results.
So exciting!

Don't blow it.
10% volunteers say "yes" to helping because they believe in you, your mission, want to make a difference and/or you offer them a cool opportunity.
Lots of organizations can offer 10% volunteers something to do.
What makes your offer so special they keep coming back for more?
The experience.
If it's bad, they won't be back.

Last Call: Suggestions for Stops for the 2011 Lazy Leader Road Show
Could your city be a great stop for the Lazy Leader Road Show?
We are now compiling a list of potential cities for the Lazy Leader Road Show to stop at.
Last week I asked for your suggestions.
Interestingly, only one city so far was suggested twice.
And it was showcased in two very different ways - which makes my team even more excited about considering it!
Any more suggestions out there?
Here are the concepts we are currently playing with:
The Road Show program is looking like it's going to be a half-day training about how to be a Lazy Leader and create a surplus of volunteers for your chapter.
In order to keep prices affordable, we need to average at least 200 attendees per location.
The goal is to train 5,000 leaders in 2011 via the Lazy Leader Road Show.
Here are the must-haves for potential stops:
City needs to be within an hour of a major airport.
City needs a population of 100,000+ people or be a suburb of a major US city - part of the metro city area.
City needs to have lots of chapters or organizations that want to learn how to attract more volunteers.
Do you live in a city that sounds like that?
Please let us know.
Here's a link to a short survey to suggest your city.
** I need your suggestions by Wednesday August 18th. **
I'll be attending a major expo soon after where I'll be shopping the strongest contenders.
