Step Up Your Leadership Game Become a Go Team Go! Leader
Are you dreading facing another year
of great ambition – and not enough volunteers to get the work done?
Has your mantra of late been…
- People
don’t want to get involved.
- Younger
folks don’t want to join the chapter.
- I’m
feeling burned out.
Do you dream of the magic cure
that will transform your chapter from a tired group of leaders to a thriving,
happening place with a surplus of volunteers eager to help?
Imagine waking up to a fresh day
where your leadership skills seem to magnetically attract new volunteers
everywhere you go.
This doesn’t have to be a dream.
What’s the formula for this
outrageous success?
Cynthia’s book Go Team Go!
Strategies for Leading Today’s Teams to Victory.
It spells out step-by-step
what you can do to be the leader members love to volunteer with.
This summer, Cynthia will be
teaching six webinar playdates based on her Go Team Go! book.
Each session will
help to build the skills you need to get the results you want. (You can attend all or any sessions.)
#1: How to Become the Leader Members Love to Volunteer For
Tuesday, June 10th
1:00 – 1:50 PM ET
You are excited about stepping up
to leadership this year. You believe in the potential of your chapter. You want
to achieve great things.
You just need to learn how to
work with today’s volunteers.
This session will give you the
inside scoop for what it takes to achieve greater success. You’ll explore the
difference between being a chapter leader and a Go Team Go! leader who is a
volunteer magnet.
You’ll learn the skills that make
a difference.
You’ll also learn five key mistakes you must avoid at all costs
if you want to guarantee a fabulous year ahead.
After this session, you’ll be
ready to start a new phase of life as a volunteer leader.
#2: How to Start Your Team on Strong Footing Tuesday, June 17th
1:00 – 1:50 PM ET
If you want to build a team of
individuals who are committed to moving your mission forward, do what they say
they will do – and enthusiastically work together, you must start them out on
strong footing.
Learn the key elements to a great
kick off meeting.
You'll also learn a little known, easy-to-use tool for increasing
the odds of team success.
Starting strong helps insure your team also ends strong!
#3: How to Lead Board and Committee Meetings Your Members Enjoy
Attending Tuesday, July 8th 1:00
– 1:50 PM ET
Just being on the team is not
enough.
Too often committees (and boards) feel more like revolving doors than
successful teams – and few members have time to waste on groups going nowhere!
Time spent in meetings must be
meaningful and deliver value if you expect to keep volunteers engaged.
You need
to step up your leadership skills to boost value for everyone who sits at your
table.
Learn specific steps you can take
to keep your members coming back meeting after meeting – and getting the work
done too!
#4: How to Transform Boring Meetings into Dynamic Experiences Tuesday, July 22nd
1:00 – 1:50 PM ET
Boring meetings are passive
experiences. Providing value requires creating space at meetings for meaningful
conversation.
This session has two major
elements...
In the first half you will explore strategies for eating more time
on your agenda without creating marathon meetings.
In the second half, you will
learn how to be more effective when teams are filled with members who want to
play – who will challenge and stretch comfort zones to reach higher levels of
success together.
Learn how to reach agreements
when members have different points of view and to celebrate the strengths of
diversity - rather than shut it down.
#5: Question Your Way to Success Tuesday, August 12th
1:00 – 1:50 PM ET
Push leadership – where it’s your
way or the highway – no longer works well with volunteers.
Instead, today’s leader must be
the master of asking dynamic questions to help you achieve your goals.
A great question can:
- Pull a
team together.
- Focus a
diverse conversation.
- Create
understanding between competitors.
- Open
eyes to new possibilities.
- Unleash
creative solutions previously unseen.
Asking good questions takes practice
and requires sensitivity from you to identify the type of questions to steer
conversations in the direction you want the discussion to go.
Skilled questioners help members
feel appreciated and are a joy to work with.
In this session you will learn when
and how to ask questions – as well as what questions to ask to create desired
results in a variety of situations.
#6: How to Survive and Thrive with Challenging Conversations Tuesday, August 26th
1:00 – 1:50 PM ET
When members are allowed to be
passionate and involved, emotions may flare in discussions.
Offering a dissenting opinion is
no longer a mutinous action.
You need to be skilled at
facilitating healthy discussions to reach the enhanced levels of success
possible.
In this session, you will learn
how to set the tone for smoother sailing from the get go.
You’ll also learn strategies for
getting past the ultimate volunteer roadblock – “But we’ve always done it that
way” and other forms of resistance.
Thanks to your enhanced
facilitation skills, you’ll start to experience richer conversations than you
thought possible for your chapter.
