Orientation – It’s Not Just for Newbies Tuesday, February 9th, 1:00 – 1:30 PM ET
If you want to:
- Alienate new members.
- Decrease retention.
- Be a volunteer repellant.
Hold a new member orientation just once a year.
Your new members will get the message – and turn into disenfranchised members who probably will not stick around.
Let’s talk straight here…
A once a year orientation assumes new members are:
A. Eagerly waiting for months to be welcomed into your chapter
B. They will remember what they heard in a single data dump.
Unfortunately it doesn’t work that way.
New member orientation is NOT a moment in time.
If you want to build a chapter of happy, active volunteers, orientation activities need to be woven through out your chapter experience – all year long.
Join Cynthia D’Amour, MBA, author of The Lazy Leader's Guide to Outrageous Results for an enlightening discussion about orientating your members. Of course, Cynthia offer several specific strategies you can start to use right away.
